How X-WOW keeps its designs safe
People of every age read X-WOW, and some will try what they read. So hazards are designed out first, and a warning is the last layer, never the plan. Every invention links here; its own page lists its specific hazards and how each is controlled.
What X-WOW itself does and doesn't do
- X-WOW's physical inventions are designs and simulations on paper. X-WOW has never built or tested them, and no page claims otherwise.
- Nothing on X-WOW is a medical device or makes a health claim.
The limits every guide and build stays inside
- Electricity: batteries, USB, or a sealed, certified plug-in adapter only; nothing above 24 V; a fuse or current limit on every circuit; never open, wire or modify anything that carries mains; never build or open lithium cells or packs.
- Light: no light bright enough to hurt eyes looked at directly (an LED anyone can look into must be in IEC 62471's Exempt group; a Risk Group 1, "low risk", light only inside a closed box whose lid cuts it when opened; both by the maker's rating or a measurement, as fitted); lasers only as sealed Class 1 or Class 2 products, handled by an adult and never pointed at eyes, faces, vehicles or aircraft; no ultraviolet lamps; no lens or mirror aimed at the sun.
- Chemicals at home: only food, food colouring and plain water. No household cleaners, no mixing of products.
- Heat, cold and pressure: nothing hotter than ordinary cooking; no dry ice or cryogens; no pressure vessels.
- Sharp and moving parts: blades, needles and glass slides are for adults, or replaced with safer materials; no unguarded parts that can trap fingers or hair.
- Living things: no culturing microbes, no unknown samples such as pond water or soil, no human-derived material, no live animals. Food specimens a child handles are never raw meat, poultry, fish or egg.
- Bodies: nothing is eaten, drunk, inhaled or applied to a body, beyond ordinary food prepared the ordinary way.
- Radio: transmitters only as certified, unmodified modules (such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth), used as certified.
- Radiation and vacuum: no radioactive sources, no X-ray or electron sources, no vacuum chambers.
- Screens: nothing on the site flashes more than three times a second, and motion follows your device's reduced-motion setting.
- Children: anything a child might try names the adult's role and an age guide, and has no small parts for under-threes, loose button batteries or small strong magnets.
Lab only
Wet chemistry, such as SWELL's gel and staining steps, is described only as theory for equipped, supervised laboratories working under their own safety rules, with each step's hazard and control beside it and the safety data sheets cited. It never has a home version.
