X-WOW Kids Science ClubX-WOW 儿童科学俱乐部
University students in Abuja carried a donated microscope into local primary and secondary schools, so pupils who had never seen one could look at the microbial world for themselves. X-WOW funded it. The students ran it.

In 2019 X-WOW sent Akpan M. Friday, a microbiology student at the University of Abuja, a microscope, children's books about microbes, slides and other teaching items. With them he founded the X-WOW Kids Science Club in Abuja.

The team visited primary and secondary schools across the Federal Capital Territory. They showed pupils how a microscope works, taught them about microbes and ran microbe-themed activities. Their aim was microbial literacy: children growing up knowing how microbes shape everyday health. In his letter to X-WOW, Akpan reported that the team had reached over 100 pupils in its first months.

Virtual Microbiology Lectures Without Borders无国界微生物网课
When lockdown closed the classrooms, the club members organised Zoom lectures for microbiology students in Nigeria and invited volunteer lecturers to give them:

A second club, also funded by X-WOW, run by veterinary students at the University of Abuja. They tutored high-school and pre-university students in diagnostic veterinary pathology: how a microscope is used to find disease.

Its founder had received one of the re-homed microscopes from Back to Shine. In June 2020 the club co-organised a remote neuropathology lecture with Dr Francesca Chianini of the Moredun Research Institute, and almost 900 veterinary students in Africa registered for it.
