Retired Microscope/Scanner Back to Shine Initiative
As you already know, X-WOW is a UK-based social impact start-up, focusing on making digital pathology solutions easier to access around the globe to help pathologists in need.
We discovered a cruel fact that lacking equipment for tele-pathology (due to high up-front cost) are causing massive delays for cancer diagnosis in resource-limited area.
While on the bright side, in labs around the world there are uncountable numbers of retired microscopes and whole slide scanners hidden in the corner or in storage and not being used. They are in perfect working condition, but they are forgotten having been replaced with newer equipment.
